Bend The Arc Jewish Action PAC endorses Clinton

WASHINGTON, DC (Press Release)- Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC on Thursday, July 28, announced its endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. Bend the Arc Jewish Action CEO Stosh Cotler issued the following statement:

“We are excited to join President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Bernie Sanders and other leading Democrats and progressives in endorsing Secretary Hillary Clinton for President.

“After a spirited Democratic primary where over 25 million Americans raised their voices for a progressive domestic agenda, our country now has both a candidate and a party platform that reflects our values and vision of a more just and equal nation. Now, Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC turns to the serious and urgent work of electing Secretary Clinton this fall.

“If elected, not only would Hillary Clinton shatter our nation’s highest glass ceiling, she would implement the kind of progressive agenda that we have spent years organizing and advocating for. One of the first speeches she gave during her campaign was about the urgent need to end the era of mass incarceration and reform our broken criminal justice system. She supports raising the minimum wage, which Bend the Arc’s #JewsFor15 campaign has been fighting for all year. In fact, a $15 an hour minimum wage is now enshrined in the Democratic party platform — a huge win in the fight against economic inequality.

“Hillary Clinton has spoken out against systematic voter disenfranchisement and will fight to protect every citizen’s right to vote, no matter where they live or what they look like. She supports comprehensive immigration reform, LGBT rights, and the rights of women to make their own healthcare decisions.

“This dedication to solving to our nation’s most pressing challenges stands in stark contrast to the proposals of the Republican Party and its presidential nominee, Donald Trump. Mr. Trump’s vile rhetoric and policies have targeted immigrants, Muslims, women and virtually every other marginalized group. As Jews, we have seen this kind of hatred exploited for political purposes before, and we must speak out against it now.
