Ships of newest Gaza convoy to be seized, sold
Shurat HaDin scored an unprecedented victory against the new Gaza Flotilla: obtaining a lien on the ships once they are seized by the Israeli Navy. The lien was brought on behalf of victims of Hamas terrorism who are holding unsatisfied judgments against the Palestinian terror group.
Shurat HaDin convinced the court that the ships headed to Gaza would be turned over to Hamas should they ever make it to the Strip, and therefore should be viewed as future Hamas property. The ships will be sold off and the proceeds given to the terror victims. — From Shurat HaDin

Memorial race honors Druze Border Policeman killed by terrorists
Hundreds gathered on Saturday in the Druze village of Maghar to participate in a memorial race in honor of First Sergeant Hail Stawi, a Border Policemen killed last year in a terrorist attack on the Temple Mount.
On July 14, 2017, three terrorists from the Israeli city of Umm al-Fahm open fired on a group of Border Policemen guarding the Temple Mount compound, killing Stawi and fellow policeman Kamil Shnaan.
Stawi’s family decided to honor Hail’s memory by holding an annual race, The Ramos Race, named after Hail’s son who was only three weeks old at the time of the attack.
The event concluded with comments by Hail’s father, Afif Stawi, and Shakib Shnaan, the father of Kamil Shnaan.
Among the hundreds of participants were activists from the Zionist organization Im Tirtzu, who presented Stawi’s father with a jersey signed by Spanish soccer star Sergio Ramos, whom Hail admired and named his son after.
Im Tirtzu contacted Ramos’ team, Real Madrid C.F., who sent the signed jersey along with an engraved plaque of the team’s stadium bearing the words, “In memory of Hail.” — From Im Tirzu

Arab gunshot victim meets EMT who saved his life
A young Arab man was attacked a week ago in the Ein el-Maghara neighborhood of Umm al-Fahm, an Arab town that lies just south of Afula in northern Israel. The man was shot several times and seriously injured by unknown gunmen.
United Hatzalah volunteer Sanaa Mahameed, who lives in Umm al-Fahm, was alerted to the scene and immediately rushed to treat the injured man. The man, Hamzeh Mahameed (no relation) aged 21, was driving his car when he was attacked late Saturday afternoon. Sanaa stopped his bleeding, bandaged his wounds and then proceeded to wait for 30 minutes until an ambulance arrived to take him to HaEmek Medical Center in Afula.
“He had suffered three gunshot wounds to his upper body and sustained injuries to his chest and neck. I bandaged him, provided him with oxygen and opened an I.V. to give him fluids,” said Sanaa, who has been volunteering with United Hatzalah for more than two years and was the first female religious Muslim to do so.
Three days later, Sanaa received a call from Hamzeh’s mother thanking her profusely for saving her son. Thanks to Sanaa’s quick intervention, Hamzeh had made it through surgery and doctors said that they expected him to make a full recovery. Hamzeh’s mother invited Sanaa to the hospital to visit her son. “I was overjoyed by the invitation. It isn’t every day that I get a phone call thanking me for saving their son’s life and I wanted to go to the hospital to see how he was doing.” —From United Hatzalah

Israeli-American Council seeks regional director for San Diego area
The mission of the IAC is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens: the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generations, the American Jewish community and the bond between the people of the United States and the State of Israel. The IAC is seeking an IAC San Diego Regional Director to lead its vision of bringing together Israeli-American communities throughout the San Diego area. The ideal candidate will be high in caliber with a proven track record of successful leadership and management and with the ability to implement the IAC mission. Duties Include:
• Lead the San Diego regional office to develop the strategic plan and work plan which implements the IAC’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and goals on a local level.
• Work with the local IAC San Diego Council on strategic direction of IAC San Diego, fundraising plan and sustainability of the region.
• Implement programs and produce community events for the Israeli-American community in the San Diego metropolitan area.
• Coordinate IAC San Diego Office operations, finances, marketing, programming, and other issues with the National IAC headquarters.
• Establish relationships and empower existing Israeli-American organizations in the San Diego metropolitan area to enhance their activities and broaden their engagement.
• Establish a strong and mutually supportive relationship between the Israeli-American community and the Jewish community in the San Diego metropolitan area.
• Hire professional staff for the San Diego Regional Office, train and supervise them to ensure effective operations.
• Develop and implement new programs for the Israeli-American community in the San Diego metropolitan area, understanding and mapping the national objectives and local context.
• Acquire a deep understanding of the Israeli-American community in the San Diego metropolitan area in order to provide relevant and meaningful programming, events and services.
• Financial management: Create an annual budget with the support of the National IAC HQ.
• Assist Regional Council in the development of strong IAC lay leadership.
• Lead and implement strategic processes with the council, team and leadership lay leaders.
• Represent the IAC and the Israeli-American community in various forums.
• Community outreach and public relations: Reach out to the community, maintain and create partnerships with other community organizations. Establish relationships and strategic partnerships with leading national organizations in the San Diego including major Jewish organizations, Embassy of Israel etc. Prior government relations experience preferred.
• Work together with the regional council on fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
• Experience with leading and empowering volunteers, heading leadership program and inspiring and mentoring leaders to action
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of related job experience.
• Experience in leadership and management of organization.
• A proven leader with exceptional development skills
• Conceptual thinker, ability to see the big picture and to create and execute a grand vision.
• Fluent in Hebrew and English – excellent Speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Israeli culture.
• Good operational, administrative, and management capabilities, ability to lead processes.
• Strong high-level planning and monitoring capabilities.
• Experience in managing and leading a team of employees.
• Action oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A proactive, energetic and positive leader.
• National travel required up to 10% of time.
• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with donors, Council members, staff and community organizations.
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills and out of the box thinking.

• Knowledge in Israel related issues and passion regarding community building.
