Sisterhood Sabbath–The annual observance of Sisterhood Sabbath will be held this Friday evening in Temple Beth Israel at 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Mack Esterson, Sisterhood President, will greet the Congregation and review Sisterhood accomplishments. Assisting in the worship will be the three Vice Presidents, Mmes. Richard F. Lustig, Joseph M. Schwartz and Lewis Bickman.
Rabbi Morton J. Cohn’s service appropriate for Sisterhood Sabbath is entitled “This is Your Wife.” All members and friends of the Temple Sisterhood are invited to attend.
A Post Script to the President–Recently Rabbi Cohn delivered a Friday evening sermon in the form of an open letter to President Eisenhower in which he gave a critical analysis of McCarthyism and its dangers to the personal freedoms of all Americans.
Public reaction to the sermon has motivated the Rabbi to enlarge upon the same theme and discuss it in further detail next Friday evening, May 21st, at 8:00 p.m. Is the current McCarthy-Army controversy a hearing or a smearing? Does McCarthyism represent a threat to religion in general and Jews in particular? these and other questions are discussed by Rabbi Cohn in his sermon, “A Post Script to the President.”
Men’s Club — The Temple Beth Israel men’s Club will honor the wives of members on Wednesday, May 19, at a Dinner-Theatre party. Following a 6:30 dinner at the San Diego Woman’s Club the couples will attend the Globe showing of “Lo and Behold.”

“Fun” and loads of it reigned over the party given by Diane Fogelman for all her many friends and “subjects.” Smelling that delicious bar-b-q and tasting it helped make the party a real success which it was. It was a real “O.K.” marked by all the kids.
Congrats go to Maxine Schoenkopf who received the title of Drum majorette at Hoover High School at the recent traditional Red and White Ball which was a lovely affair.
Come on ya’ all.
And CY-5-0679 do call.
