In accepting leadership of the division, Mrs. Berg was assured of success by the further acceptance of Mrs. Milton Roberts, President of the San Diego section of the National Council of Jewish Women, as her co-chairman and Mrs. William Carter, and Mrs. Bernard Arenson as vice-chairman.

“In 1955, the women of San Diego are fully aware,” she stated, “that we must continue our efforts o behalf of the Fund and the 58 agencies which are its beneficiaries. More than ever before, the needs of these agencies—hospitals, children’s institutions, community relations organizations, armed services, family welfare, care of the aged, religious, educational and cultural institutions—are paramount.”
In keeping with the policy of the United Jewish Fund, to continue to develop new leadership in the community, Mrs. William Carter and Mrs. Bernard Arenson were added to the leadership of the division.
Mrs. Bernard Arenson was the leader of the most successful Young People’s division campaign in 1948.
The women chairmen and their cabinet have already planned luncheons for women contributors to the Fund. The big gifts luncheon will be held at the El Cortez Hotel on Wednesday, Mar. 30.
