California’s 2009 Teacher of the Year lectures at Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School

Alex Katijani

SAN DIEGO (Press Release)–Alex Kajitani, 2009 California Teacher of the Year, comes to Soille Hebrew Day this Monday October 11 to educate its teachers during the afternoon  and then at 7:30 pm at night to inspire the community about how parents can partner with teachers to “end the silent conspiracy” and motivate our children to communicate.

Do you need to come?

Well, have you ever had this chat with your child?

Parent: How was school today?

Child: Fine.

or

Parent: What did you learn today?

Child:  Nothing.

Are you concerned about your child’s silence when it comes to school?  Are they quiet at home, and are you concerned they may be quiet in class fading into the background not motivated to learn and communicate?

Katijani is also a Top-4 Finalist for National Teacher of the Year.  A math teacher at Mission Middle School in Escondido, he is known around the country as “The Rappin’ Mathematician” and his CDs and workbooks are being used by teachers and parents across the world.

Recently he was featured on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, and in Bill Towne’s new book, Conversations with America’s Best Teachers.  Check him out at http://www.alexkajitani.com/

This event is free and open to the community.
