Thomas Levy to tell of biblical archaeology Dec. 10 at Dor Hadash

SAN DIEGO  (Press Release)– Dr. Thomas Levy, the Norma Kershaw Endowed Chair in the Archaeology of Ancient Israel and the Neighboring Lands at UCSD, will be the special speaker at Congregation Dor Hadash at the 2nd Friday Community Roundtable on Dec. 10th at 7:30pm. 

Dr. Levy will be speaking on the topic of “The Quest for King Solomon’s Mines:  Archaeology, Science and the Hebrew Bible.”  Along with his other responsibilities at UCSD, he is also the chair of the Department of Anthropology and director of the Judaic Studies Program.   Dr. Levy is widely published and has done archaeology work in Israel, Jordan, and India.  He has also served as the guest curator at the Museum of Man here in San Diego for the 2007 “Journey to the Copper Age” exhibition.
