Sermon on a rear window

SAN DIEGO–Melanie Rubin keeps costant vigil for Jewish license plates, but here she found a window sticker an a bumper sticker with Jewish content.  “Powered by Hashem” is another way of saying that God (Hashem) is responsible for everything, even including the laws of physics enabing the car to move.

The bumper sticker, according to our staff Hebrew speaker, Shahar Masori, translates as “I am a zero;  God is one; together we are ten.”  He explains that  the number ten in Hebrew, “eser,”  has the colloquial meaning of “top of the scale,” or greatness.  For example, Ani eser ( I am ten )  means “I”m doing great.”

Although this is not a license plate, it will be added to our online Jewish license plate collection.
