TEL AVIV (Press Release)–Over 150 Olim, including over 20 Lone Soldiers, came together to celebrate Thanksgiving at the annual Nefesh B’Nefesh Thanksgiving dinner in Tel Aviv this past Thursday night. During the dinner, participants enjoyed a short trivia game and music, while dining on turkey and stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and other traditional Thanksgiving dishes, all with a Middle-Eastern twist.

In the spirit of the holiday, the dinner was combined with a canned food drive for the Lasova Soup Kitchen, who offered the Olim the opportunity to sign up as volunteers.

“Many young professionals who make Aliyah, come to Israel without their families and close friends,” said David Matlin, Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Regional Coordinator for Tel Aviv. “This dinner allows them the opportunity to celebrate the tradition of Thanksgiving, while socializing with other Olim and making new friends.”
