Southwestern Jewish Press, June 24, 1955, Page 7
By Janet & Susan Solof
Hi kids–
Gee! Isn’t it wonderful–summer’s here!
The 9th grade class at Temple Beth Israel really “lived it up” with a bar-b-cue and swimming party at Larry Ratner’s home followed by dancing at Bobbie Spiegal’s home. Those “cutting a rug” were Mort Cohn, Alan Eber, Jimmy Elden, Judy and Linda Friedman, Gloria Hucabee, Louis Lippman, Linda Myer, Linda Press and Bob Brandenburg.
Gary Cantor, Jan Klaskin, Alan Friedman, Diane Fogelman, Art Pogrell, Susan Solof, Ronnie Doctor, Linda Zuckerman, Jerry Mendell, Margie Brown, Jack Sharpe, Lois Brown, Mort Cohn, Adrienne Cantor, Stan Breitbard, Debbie Struass got together to celebrate Gary Cantor and Mort Cohn’s birthdays. They had a barrel of fun.
A cocktail party at Sigmund Urbach’s really started the evening off right before the Blue Book Ball. Toasting to good grades were Joan Breitbard ‘n Donn Kobernick, Linda Zuckerman ‘n George Rosenberg, Brennan Heiman ‘n Steven Kirstel, Linda Douglas ‘n Joe Winicki, Janet Solof ‘n Sheldon Golden, Ethel Shapof ‘n Ernie Addleson, Arlene Gary ‘n Dan Weinberg, Maxine Schoenkopf ‘n Bruce Fisher, Barbara Stein ‘n Jim Recht, Joyce Addleson ‘n Shearn Platt and Beverly Kitaen ‘n Bernie Sosna.
Janet Solof brought “hello” to everyone from Adrienne Sacknoff whom she saw on her recent trip east.

Two big days are approaching for the S.D. A.Z.A. boys. On June 24th, the Alephs will participate in a Sabbath Service, at Temple Beth Israel, to which the entire Jewish Community is welcome. Readings will be given by five members.
Chapter elections will be held on June 28th. As in the past, election night will be far from dull. Oratory will resound and refreshments will be served.
