SAN DIEGO (Press Release) – Orel Hamori of Tijuana, Mexico, a student at Torah High School of San Diego, has been awarded an Alicia Flatow Scholarship for study next academic term in Israel.
Hamori will study at the Michlala School with assistance from the scholarship named in memory of Alisa Flatow, a student from West Orange, N.J., in a terrorist attack on the bus she was riding in Israel.
Hamori was one of six winners, with others being Philip Katz of Upper Saddle River, N.J.; Stephanie Leichtung of Cedarhurst, N.Y.; Mark Osboda of Memphis, Tenn., Elisha Pearl of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Lisa Roelofsen of Alpharetta, Georgia. Two alternates were also chosen: Ariel Kagedan of Ottawa, Ontario, and Chaya Wilks of Cleveland, Ohio.
