Fundraising in San Diego for Israel’s Lone Soldiers

By Dan Brodsky

SAN DIEGO (Special)–Israel has over 2,000 soldiers who put their lives on the line by coming to Israel and joining the IDF, even though they have no family in Israel. Their dedication is amazing, and many of them have virtually not enough money to live on. These Lone Soldiers need a little help from us.

Fortunately there is the Michael Levin Lone Soldier Assoc. in Jerusalem.  http://lonesoldiercenter.com     Nina and I were lucky to get todo a little volunteer work with the Assoc. two months ago when we were in Israel. We saw how the group’s volunteers picked up used furniture and appliances and delivered these necessities to these brave fighters.

We have a fortunate opportunity!  Three families in San Diego have agreed to host desserts this week to raise a few donations: 1) The Max family in Carmel Valley, on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 pm. 2) Mitch Danzig at the offices of Mintz Levin, in Carmel Valley, on Friday morning, Nov. 11, from 8 to 9:30 am for a light breakfast, and 3) The Aloni family in Rancho Bernardo, on Sunday, Nov.13, at 7 pm.

At each of these events, Tziki Aud, the head of the Lone Soldier Assoc. will be there to inspire you with a short video, and you will also hear from Ray Nahum, a former lone soldier, about his interesting life in Israel. Bring some friends and take advantage of one of these events, and help Israel’s.  Call me at (858) 794-7018 to RSVP, and I’llgive you addresses, directions, etc. If you are inclined to help with two or three hundred tax-deductible dollars, I will give you information for that also.

Best wishes for the new year.
