Bullet holes found in synagogue windows

SAN DIEGO (Press Release)–Rabbi Moishe Leider of Chabad of University City on Monday, April 2, sent out an advisory to the community that shots had  been fired at his synagogue.   He wrote:

“As you may have heard from various news sources, two bullet holes were recently discovered in windows on the bottom floor of our  Synagogue. Thank G-d, no one was hurt. The bullets, apparently a small caliber, did not make it completely through the windows and  the windows did not shatter (thanks to shatter-proof coating).

“We have contacted the S. Diego Police Department and they are investigating this incident. While we cannot rule out the possibility that this may have been a hate-crime, it is most probably an act of vandalism. The  Synagogue has not received threats of any kind.

“To  be on the safe side, Chabad of UC will be instituting additional  security measures over the Passover holiday. If you have any information about this incident or if you see anything suspicious, please contact the S. Diego Police Department at 619 531-2000. ”
