Mesa College to host Holocaust exhibit in November

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — San Diego Mesa College will host The Courage to Remember, a traveling exhibit produced by the Museum of Tolerance from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, November 5 through 16, 2012. Admission to the exhibit is free and the public is invited to attend.

After more than 20 years of international acclaim and a celebrated statewide tour, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s The Courage to Remember will make its San Diego debut at the Learning Resource Center at Mesa College.

The exhibit features more than 200 exclusive photographs that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world, offering amazing insight into the Holocaust through four distinct themes: Nazi Germany, 1933-1938; Moving Toward the “Final Solution,” 1939-1941; Annihilation in Nazi-occupied Europe, 1941-1945; and Liberation, Building New Lives.

“We are delighted to host The Courage to Remember at Mesa College,” said Dr. Pamela T. Luster, president. The college joins with our community in honoring the work of the Wiesenthal Center, demonstrating our commitment to equity and diversity.

The Courage to Remember exhibit will be on display Nov. 5 through 16 on the second floor of the Mesa College Learning Resource Center (LRC). Exhibit hours are Mondays through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parking is available in the A Overflow Lot. Visitors can purchase hourly permits from dispensers in any student lot.
