SAN DIEGO — The Journal of San Diego History has added San Diego Jewish World publisher Donald H. Harrison to its editorial board, the Journal’s co-editors, Drs. Molly McClain and Iris Engstrand, have announced.
Harrison, author of a biography of San Diego pioneer Louis Rose and numerous articles on San Diego Jewish history, “will provide additional dimension to the Journal,” commented Engstrand.
Before publishing the online San Diego Jewish World, Harrison served as a longtime editor of the San Diego Jewish Press-Heritage and a columnist for the San Diego Jewish Times, both newspapers now defunct. He is formerly a member of San Diego’s Historical Resources Board, and currently serves on the advisory board of Western States Jewish History .
“I feel very honored by this appointment,” said Harrison. “The histories of the City of San Diego and its Jewish community are tightly interwoven, and it’s a delight to be able to help relate the stories of them both.”
