LA JOLLA, California (Press Release) – The exhibition “To Me There’s No Other Choice” celebrates the life and honors the courageous deeds of Swedish diplomat and businessman Raoul Wallenberg.  It will be on display from December 5, 2013 until February 28, 2014 along the second floor of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037.

Raoul Wallenberg is one of the most internationally acclaimed individuals in history and has received worldwide praise for his commitment to saving lives during World War II.  As a diplomat and a businessman, Wallenberg was appointed legation secretary of the Swedish diplomatic mission in Budapest in June 1944. By issuing protective Swedish passports and renting buildings, “Swedish houses” where Jews could seek shelter, Wallenberg saved tens of thousands of Jews and his actions showed the world that one man really can make a difference.

The exhibit is in partnership with the Consulate of Sweden.  Holocaust Education Programs are generously supported by the Viterbi Family Foundation.
