United Fund Seeks To Reach Goal
Southwestern Jewish Press, January 10, 1958, Page 8
Campaign activities of the United Fund of San Diego County will be resumed starting next Wednesday.
Members of the United Fund’s incorporators meeting yesterday morning at the San Diego Hotel finalized plans for the continuation of the drive seeking $3,353,678.
The campaign, which is raising operating funds for nearly 100 health, welfare and guidance services in the county, has collected slightly more than 2 1/2 million dollars to date.
Rabbi Morton J. Cohn, drive chairman, said the results so far are “excellent” but not complete. “We have definitely been accepted as part of San Diego County community life,” he said. “Proof of this rests with the fact that we have already raised more money than any single drive in our history.”
“Success,” he added, “will not be attained however until we raise an additional $850,000 — the amount needed to carry on agency programs at the same level as last year.”
