El Al issues ‘passports for pets’

pet passportNEW YORK (Press Release)– In celebration of National Pet Month, EL AL Israel Airlines welcomes furry and feathered passengers including dogs, cats and exotic birds with a dedicated EL AL “Mile Paw” Pet Frequent Flyer Club. As the first airline to ever develop a loyalty club for pets in 2001, the EL AL Pet Frequent Flyer Club allows them to earn Matmid frequent flyer points. Available exclusively to members of the Matmid Club, pets flying roundtrip three times within three years will receive a free roundtrip flight.

To celebrate National Pet Month, EL AL is offering a complementary pet passport which allows pet owners to keep track of frequent flyer miles earned, maintain updated owner and pet indentification information as well as dietary and grooming guidelines. The passport will also allow owners to have on hand a personality profile, as well as list recent vaccinations and updated medical records.

To obtain a free pet passport, send your name and mailing address to either the EL AL USA Facebook page (ELALIsraelAirlinesUSA) or to petpassport@elalusa.com. Hundreds of pet passports will be sent to anyone requesting a copy (based on availability).

EL AL passengers travelling from the USA to Israel with a pet pay $100 each way for a pet weighing up to 18 pounds/ 8 kilo and $200 each way for up to 110 pounds/50 kilos.
