SAN DIEGO-After devoting most of its broadcasts to the search of Malaysian Flight 370, CNN shifted its coverage to Donald Sterling. Both stories deal with something that was flying high, veered off course, and came crashing down to earth. The only difference is that Sterling continues to emit pings.

Rabbi Yaakov Ariel, chief rabbi of Ramat Gan in Israel, declared that Jewish law prohibits renting apartments to lesbian couples. The country’s Reform rabbis justified the practice on the grounds that if Jewish lesbians cohabit, any children born to them would be Jewish.

Karl Rove has claimed that Hillary Clinton suffered brain damage when she fell in 2012. His charge is being taken seriously since he served as chief political advisor to a president who was intellectually impaired.

An oil pipeline burst in Los Angeles showering an entire neighborhood with petroleum. Clean-up crews have scattered disposable diapers to soak up the oil and to test whether the diapers could be used to protect babies whose families live near gas and oil pipelines, refineries, or wells.
