SAN DIEGO─ The sentencing retrial of Jodi Arias will begin this week because Nancy Grace needs another story to outrage her on her television show.

Pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong against China’s decision to only allow only candidates it has approved to appear on the ballot in the upcoming election for the city’s chief executive continue to grow.  The Chinese government has justified the new policy by claiming it is not so different from the gerrymandering and voting laws adopted by other red states.

The Secret Service apparently has become so secret that intruders into the White House are totally unaware anyone guards the White House against trespassers.

A federal bankruptcy judge has ruled that the city of Detroit can turn off the water to customers who have not paid their water bill for six months by noting that there is no right to water.  He ended the reading of his verdict by advising those suing the city to go to well.

Departing President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai concluded his farewell address with a stinging condemnation of American military involvement in his country’s war against the Taliban.  He then defiantly walked away followed by a squadron of drones.
