Josefowitz selected for Women’s Hall of Fame

SAN DIEGO (SDJW) — Natasha Josefowitz, PhD, whose column appears regularly on San Diego Jewish World, is among six women selected for inclusion in the San Diego Women’s Hall of Fame in ceremonies to be conducted in March.

“From over 200 nominations, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee identified 6 women who have worked to improve the lives of other women and made positive changes in their communities,” said Ashley Gardner, executive direcor of the Women’s Museum.

“Those chosen represent and reflect the full breadth and depth of the diversity of our community,” she added. “They have all selflessly and courageously contributed greatly to San Diego and the world at large. Their lifetime work and achievements have improved the lives of many and have left a lasting impact. They are the unsung heroes of our time whose stories can be inspiring to the rest of us.”

Josefowitz was selected in the “Empowerer” catergory. Other selectees and their categories were: Newscaster Lee Ann Kim, Spirit of the Hall of Fame; Pro-choice advocate Sara Moser, activist; Black Studies Prof. Starla Lewis, Bridgebuilder; Ballet Folklorico en Aztlan artistic director Viviana Acosta, historian; and surgeon Anita Figueredo. trailblazer.

In announcing Josefowitz’s selection, the Women’s Hall of Fame said that she “has spent her life as an educator. She taught the first course in the U.S. for women in management at the University of New Hampshire, and her book Paths to Power: A Woman’s Guide from First Job to Top Executive became a bestseller. She worked as a consultant to government and profit and non-profit organizations to help women enter male dominated workplaces. Now 88, her latest project focuses on how men and women grieve and heal differently and takes a new approach to the different states of grief. Her latest book, Living Without the One You Cannot Live Without, is a reflection of her research and personal experiences on the subject.”
