SAN DIEGO (SDONA) –An SDSU alumnus and lecturer for the College of Business Administration has endowed the school’s Center for Leadership and Community Service.
Jeffrey Glazer, Class of ’81, was joined by university and student representatives for a naming ceremony on Feb. 26 for the Jeffrey W. Glazer Center for Leadership and Service.
“The more opportunities we have for students to do things, the more the students will learn,” Glazer said in a statement from the university. “Being a leader requires a lot of work, but it also requires passion. Helping students find what they are passionate about and develop their leadership skills builds great leaders for our future.”
Glazer also served on the SDSU Alumni Association board, as well as the Campanile Foundation.
The Glazer Center offers a Leadership Certificate that students can earn through completing workshops and community service projects. Almost 600 students have completed the certificate program or are in the process of completing it. The center also hosted the SDSU Leadership Summit on Feb. 21 that saw over 500 students attend.
Glazer’s gift has also influenced the university’s plans to offer an academic minor in leadership. Students enrolled in the minor will take courses in leadership development, most of which are specific to their major.
