SAN DIEGO─ The new coalition formed by Benjamin Netanyahu is the most right-wing government Israel has ever had.  It is so right-wing that if Israel were a ship of state sailing West on the Mediterranean towards the Atlantic, it would run aground on Cyprus the first day.

B.B. King died this week.  The thrill really is gone.

The Georgia principal who made a racist comment at the end of a commencement ceremony was fired.  She claimed that Satan put the words in her mouth.  Theologians who were consulted to confirm whether Satan operates this way replied that Satan is merely a code word for bigotry.

The jury in the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev sentenced him to death.  He is scheduled to share a cell in hell with Baruch Goldstein and Timothy McVeigh.

The NFL handed down a four game suspension to quarterback Tom Brady for knowing about the deliberate deflation of footballs during a playoff game.  Baltimore Raven Ray Rice received a two-game suspicion for knocking his girlfriend unconscious.  A generation of young NFL fans has learned that it is a lesser offence to hit a woman than to needle a football.
