J*Company plans sequel to ‘Annie’

Center for Jewish Culture logoLA JOLLA, California  (Press Release)– Ever wonder what happened to Annie the day after “Tomorrow”?

Join the talented cast of the J* Company Youth Theatre group as they pick up where the musical Annie left off. Annie Warbucks, which begins later this month, tells the tale of what happens to everyone’s favorite red-headed orphan and the billionaire businessman, Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, after adoption plans have been announced.

Under the thoughtful direction of J* Company’s accomplished Artistic Director, Joey Landwehr, the cast of 58, which features, 12 year-old Natalie Feldstein as Annie and 14 year-old Mikel Lemoine as Daddy Warbucks, delights audiences with a new adventure.

Although all seemed smooth sailing for Annie as the curtains dropped on the original musical, this sequel, created once again by TONY Award-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, prolongs the fairy-tale ending, providing all the drama of the previous story with new villains, secret scheming and an old-fashioned romance thrown in for good measure.

As with Annie, the story of Annie Warbucks continues with the messages of hope and family. The ever-optimistic heroine once again manages to forge loving relationships while thwarting the efforts of those that are trying to harm her family and friends.
“There’s an important lesson that can be learned from Annie,” says Landwehr. “She has always been a strong role-model whose positive outlook and cheery disposition despite her circumstances empowers her. No matter what problems she’s confronted with, she overcomes them.”
