Firing back at the gun lobby and its allies

SAN DIEGO─ Even Donald Trump conceded that individuals on the Department of Homeland Security’s No Fly List should not be allowed to purchase guns.  Now if could only stop shooting off his mouth about Hillary’s intent to abolish the Second Amendment!

NRA head Wayne LaPierre reiterated his rejection of stricter gun control laws: “It’s like, what we’re doing with this debate on the Hill right now, it’s like they’re trying to stop a freight train with a piece of Kleenex.”  If gun violence is like a runaway freight train, it is because the NRA opposes speed limits for trains and the licensing of railroad engineers.

Phoning 911 during his shooting spree in the Pulse, the Orlando shooter proclaimed: “Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God,” Apparently, he didn’t believe God’s gay children deserve such praise and peace as well.

If the Senate is unable to muster the modicum of political courage to pass the Republican proposal to ban the sale of guns to people on the No Fly List if the Department of Homeland Security can’t substantiate its suspicions of why they pose a security risk, then those opposed to this no-brainer measure should introduce an alternative bill that permits gun shows to open kiosks in American airports.
