SAN DIEGO (SDJW)– The exhibition, “Celebrate San Diego: The History and Heritage of San Diego’s Jewish Community,” will close on Sunday, June 3, at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park.
As a send off, the History Center is holding a reception from 6 to 8 p.m.,Thursday, May 31, at which the exhibition’s curator, Dr. Joellyn Zollman, will offer tours at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Newly on sale at the bookstore will be Isaac Artenstein’s documentary To the Ends of the Earth: A Portrait of Jewish San Diego and reservations may be made for the purchase of Zollman’s Celebrate, Commemorate, a souvenir book due out in June that recapitulates high points of the exhibition along with other information on San Diego’s Jewish community
Continuing on sale at the History Center book store are three books by San Diego Jewish World editor Donald H. Harrison. They are Louis Rose: San Diego’s First Jewish Settler and Entrepreneur, Schlepping Through the American West: There’s A Jewish Story Everywhere and 77 Miles of Jewish Stories: History, Anecdotes & Tales of Travel along I-8.
