ENCINITAS, California — As a resident at Seacrest Village I am impressed how well management is educating and protecting the health of residents and staff from the Coronavirus.
At a recent Town Hall meeting for residents, Carl Miser, Operations Officer, explained the rules and guidelines for residents to protect themselves from the virus. A follow up letter from Pam Ferris, CEO of Seacrest Village, was then placed in every resident’s apartment. Seacrest Village also has an in-house television station that streams continuing information to every resident. Special emphasis was placed on washing one’s hands for twenty seconds often, and avoiding shaking hands with others.
Since badges of family members have been temporarily disabled, they and all other visitors must sign in at the main office on Saxony Lane (at the north side of the building). Children under the age of 16 will not be admitted during these trying times.
Programs offered at Seacrest Village by Brandeis Women and visiting volunteers have been temporarily suspended. As a further precaution, only residents can attend the Passover Seders this year, nor will visitors be admitted during the week of the Festival.
Of course, residents are free to leave the building at any time. If they will be joining family or friends, they should meet them outside the building. Upon returning it is important to wash their hands for twenty seconds, and use the hand sanitizing dispensers at the entrances.
Any one feeling ill should contact the office, and stay in their apartment. Meals will be delivered to them.
Residents in independent-living buildings A and F should not visit other buildings,
.
Seacrest continues its routine and resident care. We are driven to choice of coctor appointments three times a week, and once a week shopping to local stores in our area.
Our country and world is facing challenging times and seniors are especially vulnerable. We are grateful all the more for the fine leadership of Seacrest management and staff for ensuring our safe environment
