‘Smoke Gets in Our Lungs’

SAN DIEGO

To the melody of ‘Smoke Gets in Your Eyes’

Flames that engulf the trees,
Smoke that makes us wheeze.
“Rake the forest floor!
Climate’s not the cause, I won’t pass more laws.”
He said someday you’ll see, you’ll be thanking me.“Oh, Oh!
He is so unstrung, smoke gets in our lungs.

I have little doubt, fires stem from droughts.
And warm atmosphere.
I’m no fool, lessen carbon fuel.
It’s too late I fear. (too late I fear)

Shut him up and send relief
He can’t console our grief.
What more can I say?
He should bite his tongue, smoke gets in our lungs.
