Satire: Observations from the Election

SAN DIEGO—Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, but lying to pollsters is okay.

Yogi Berra famously said, “It ain’t over until it’s over.” If Biden wins the election, I hope Trump can grin and Berra it.

We had been warned to expect a Red Mirage where Trump would be ahead election night followed by a Blue Wave where absentee and mail-in ballots ultimately would elect Biden. The only problem is that the wave turned out to be a ripple.

Steve Kornacki of MSNBC owns only one pair of pants.

A house divided cannot stand but will collapse more quickly if the occupant of the White House is a homewrecker.

It is commonly believed that the credibility of Joseph McCarthy was destroyed when the chief counsel for the US Army Joseph Welch confronted him and asked, “At long last, have you left no sense of decency?” I’m waiting for that moment to happen to Trump at his next tirade against the suppression polls, Democratic election officials, Fake News, and mail-in voting which stole the election.

Trump has declared that a winner of the elections should be declared on election night rather than days, weeks, or months after.  Does that timeline also apply to delays in recognizing the winner that arise from lawsuits?
