Throwing axes: a fun way to relieve stress

SAN DIEGO — There are numerous references in the Tanach to axes, either as weapons or as tools.

For example, as  tools, axes are mentioned in Judges 9:48, which reads: “Abimelech took the axes in his hand and cut down a branch of the trees, lifted it and placed it on his shoulder, and said to the people that were with him, ‘What you have seen me do, hurry and do as I did.'”

As weapons, axes are referenced in I Chronicles 20:3: “He took out the people in it and cut them with saws, with iron threshing boards, and with axes and this is what David would do to all the cities of the Children of Ammon.”

However, today axes have another use besides those mentioned in the Tanach,  according to Devon Doane, a devotee of Axeventures in the North Park community of San Diego.  They provide a fun way to relieve stress, as is demonstrated in the video above.
