Make America Grateful Again

SAN DIEGO — The year 2020 has been terrible. Despite the pandemic, the recession, and the nationwide civil turmoil, there are still things to be grateful for during this holiday season.

I am grateful for the approval and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine. As I watch the television coverage of healthcare workers and high risks groups receiving inoculations, I am grateful that the shot is administered in the arm rather than the buttocks.

I am grateful that members of Congress refuse to forego their Holiday recess. Otherwise there would no chance that they would pass a second Covid Relief bill before the end of the year.

I am grateful for Zoom which has enabled me to see and talk with my friends and relatives. I’d be even more grateful if they could learn to mute themselves when someone else is speaking.

I am grateful that I have driven my leased car only 350 miles this year because now I can exceed the annual mileage limit in the remaining years of the lease.

I am grateful that masks have become more stylish during the year so I no longer look like I have a quilted paper towel stuck on my face.

I am grateful that election officials didn’t stop counting ballots after President Trump declared victory.
