SAN DIEGO — Spring has sprung, and, the country is opening up:
Major League Baseball: Most teams have limited seating to 20% to 30 % of their stadiums’ capacities, but the Texas Rangers organization permitted its ballpark to fill up to capacity because Texas prides itself on being bigger than any other state in the numbers of fans it allows to attend sporting events or the Covid-19 spike it expects in two weeks.
Hunting Season: In the past month there have been mass shootings in Atlanta, Boulder, and Orange. The killers apparently thought that hunting season on civilians has opened.
Trial of Derek Chauvin: The proceedings have opened the psychological wounds inflicted on those who witnessed the killing of George Floyd. Fortunately for Chauvin, none of them took a knee to protest police brutality.
Matt Gaetz: A Justice Department investigation of whether Texas congressman Matt Gaetz dated underage woman and transported them across state lines for sex has opened up. As soon as it was made public, Gaetz purportedly stopped writing his book My Hero Jeffrey Epstein.
Israeli Elections: Two days after spring officially arrived, Israel voted for a new Knesset opening the year to the first of its biannual elections.
