SAN DIEGO — I created the Jaclyn Beth Kaufman Tauber Memorial Fund through the Jewish Community Foundation to honor the memory of my beautiful daughter Jackie, she was my best friend. Jackie had the ability to connect with people on a very personal level, especially children. Jackie was creatively gifted. A master puppeteer, she was a member of the San Diego Guild of Puppetry, a non-profit organization created to educate through the magic of Puppet Theater. Jackie was able to bring her puppetry to schools in San Diego especially in the most underserved neighborhoods of San Diego.
Jackie passed away six years ago today, on November 7th, 2015. She was only 38 years old. Jackie died from a particular rare and highly aggressive form of breast cancer known as Metaplastic, a subset of triple negative breast cancer.
The JBKT Memorial Fund donations go to supporting oncology researchers who are committed to working on metaplastic triple negative breast cancer as well as other rare forms of tumors. With the widespread immunotherapy trials that are ongoing throughout the country, there are promising signs for extending metaplastic breast cancer patients’ lives and giving them a fighting chance.
Your donation counts and makes a difference in funding the vital research. With a little help from you, we can continue this life saving journey. It is my goal through your donations that we can spare other families the anguish of watching their loved ones suffer and being consumed by this insidious monster called cancer. Donations may be sent to the Jewish Community Foundation at 4950 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, California 92123 an care of the JBKT Fund.
