SAN DIEGO —

Hanukkah, Oh, Hanukkah,
Things are getting better.
Last year our party
Was a super spreader.
Celebrating this year
Standing six feet apart
Unmasking when we eat because we are smart.

Before you can join us,
Prove that you’ve had the vaccine.
You must have had three, to light candles with me
Or remain in self-quarantine.
Don’t hang around, if you’ve been to Cape Town,
And flown back here recently.

Hanukkah, Oh, Hanukkah,
Things are getting better.
Sanitize the dreidels.
And ban the shedders.
Gather ’round the table
After negative tests.
Sufganiyot to eat for virus-free guests.

And while we are playing,
Anti-vaxers contract the disease                                                                                                                              Too many have died, and their families have cried.
Scorning guidelines to follow with ease
I hope they get wise and ignore the lies
To rejoice safely this season, please! *
