SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Have you heard people say “I am not antisemitic, I am only anti-Zionist” or that “Zionists are trying to weaponize antisemitism to stop legitimate criticism of Israel”? If you want to explore what’s wrong with those types of statements and understand better how to respond to them, as well as differentiate between legitimate “criticism” and plain and simple Jew-hatred, then this is the presentation for you.
On Wednesday, February 23, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., Congregation Beth Israel will host guest speaker Micha Danzig for a presentation entitled “Anti-Zionism is Almost Always Antisemitism.” Danzig served in the Israeli army and is a former police officer with the New York Police Department. He is currently an attorney and is very active with numerous Jewish and pro-Israel organizations, including as a founding partner in the #EndJewHatred movement and as a board member with StandWithUs and Herut. Micha has authored many articles related to Israel and fighting antisemitism, which have been published by the Los Angeles Jewish Journal, Algemeiner, the San Diego Union-Tribune, The Forward, Times of Israel, and Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), and he has appeared as a guest on shows like The Tipping Point, The Daily Ledger, and Vice News, where he has been called on to discuss matters related to antisemitism, Israel and the Middle East.
This event is co-sponsored by Beth Israel’s Social Action Committee and the Men’s Club. This event serves as the Men’s Club Monthly Speaker Forum.
