San Diego Jewish Community Member Peter Singer Running for Superior Court Judge

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Superior Court Commissioner Peter Singer is seeking an open seat for San Diego Superior Court Judge in the June 2022 election. Singer has extensive judicial experience, having been a full-time judicial officer since 2015 and having served as a temporary judge for 22 years, while maintaining his solo law practice.

In addition to being endorsed by many judges and court commissioners, Singer has received the endorsements of the San Diego Democratic Party, the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council and the president of the California Judges Association.

Commissioner Singer is active in the San Diego Jewish community, having served as president of the Temple Adat Shalom Men’s Club, where he was also selected as Man of the Year. He presently serves on the San Diego board of Jewish National Fund-USA and was previously a member of the AIPAC San Diego Council. He previously served on the Temple Adat Shalom board of trustees, as well as the Dor Hadash board of directors.

In addition to presiding daily over a busy courtroom, Commissioner Singer is on the faculty of the B.E. Witkin California Judicial College, where he trains new Superior Court commissioners and judges. In 2019, he was selected as California Court Commissioner of the Year and he presently serves as president of the California Court Commissioners Association. He is also the president of the Lions Community Service Corporation, the owner/operator of a non-profit 131-unit low-income senior community in Downtown San Diego.

Singer is a graduate of Rutgers University and Western State University College of Law.
