Satire: Insurrection

Insurrection (Melody: Revolution by the Beatles)

We marched to mount an insurrection.
Well, you know,
We just couldn’t let Trump lose.
We tried to stop a rigged election.
Well, you know,
That’s what we heard on Fox News.

Donald Trump gave us incitement.
Which is why we face indictments.

Don’t you know it’s gonna take a fight?
To make the country turn far right?
And rectify the white man’s plight.

Now there’s an investigation.
Well, you know.
The evidence is plain to see.
We weren’t tourists on vacation.
Well, you know
We were vandals on a spree.

Since we don’t trust the voting tallies
And were enraged by speakers at our rallies.

Don’t you know it’s gonna take a fight
To make the country turn far right?
And rectify the white man’s plight.

We disrupted the peaceful transition.
Well, you know.
We sought to make the country great.
Don’t expect us to show contrition.
Well, you know
Love cannot defeat our hate.

Bear Spray, poles, and Kevlar vests
Deterred the cops from arrests.

Don’t you know it’s gonna take a fight?
To make the country turn far right?
And rectify the white man’s plight.
