SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Sesame Place San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, is hosting a Hanukkah Celebration on Monday, December 19. The holiday daytime fun includes a menorah candle lighting ceremony led by local Rabbi Daniel Reich, a festive dance party with Sesame Street friends, games of dreidel, storytime, kosher food and drink, and more.
Sesame Place San Diego, the all-new theme park located in Chula Vista, features Sesame-Street themed rides and attractions and is perfect for families and kids of all ages. The park features an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood complete with the iconic 123 Stoop, daily live character shows, an award-winning parade, one-of-a-kind photo opportunities and of course, everyone’s favorite furry friends. Menorah Candle Lighting Ceremony
Guests are invited to join their favorite furry friends for Sesame Place San Diego’s first Menorah Candle Lighting Ceremony. This holiday ritual will be led by Rabbi Daniel Reich from Congregation Adat Yeshurun.
Furry Friends Hanukkah Dance Party
Sesame Street friends will meet at Big Bird’s Wave Pool Lawn and lead a festive dance party where guests can move and groove to Hanukkah music.
Play Dreidel with Elmo
Playing dreidel is a traditional Hanukkah game played in Jewish homes all over the world. At Sesame Place San Diego, guests can play with Elmo and spin the dreidel for a chance to win Hannukah gelt.
Hanukkah Storytime
Families can gather around at Rosita’s Holiday Hills and learn all about Hanukkah with Sesame Street friends during the park’s Hanukkah Storytime. The book read will be available for purchase at Hooper’s Store.
Kosher Food and Drinks
Sesame Place San Diego will be serving a limited-time menu of Glatt Kosher food and a Hanukkah-themed Kosher Sufganiyot-inspired cocktail for purchase at Monster Snacks while supplies last. Kosher menu items will be catered by Jeff’s Gourmet Sausage and overseen by Rabbi Daniel Reich.
Also available at Sesame Place San Diego on December 19 is A Very Furry Christmas, offered at the park now through January 8 on select dates. The park has transformed into a one-of-a-kind holiday wonderland for guests to celebrate festive fun alongside the daily, fun offerings that theme park guests enjoy year-round. Guests will be merry as they experience Sesame Street-themed Christmas attractions, shows, and experiences.

Tickets are $44.99 and are date specific and only valid for the date selected at the time of purchase.
