SAN DIEGO – Jewish Federation of San Diego (Federation), an organization inspired by Jewish values and dedicated to broadening and deepening engagement in Jewish life to strengthen Jewish identity, foster dynamic connections with Israel, and care for all Jews in need, announces Scott McGrath as Federation’s new Chief Advancement Officer.
“We are excited to welcome Scott to Federation as our new Chief Advancement Officer at a moment when we are reaching so many people locally and around the world,” says Heidi Gantwerk, President and CEO of Federation. “His expertise combined with his passion for our mission and success in fundraising will enable us to strengthen Federation and, in turn, strengthen our entire Jewish community.”
As CAO, Scott will lead donor relations and fundraising for Federation, with an emphasis on creating deep community impact through inspirational giving. Scott will focus on both expanding Federation’s reach, ensuring more people throughout San Diego County are connected to its work and impact, as well as deepening the relationships with those who are currently involved.
“I am a not-for-profit lifer committed to helping organizations be more successful in achieving their mission while making them better places to work,” said McGrath. “I’m inspired by the richness of the traditions, history, culture, and values of the Jewish community. I believe Judaism, at its core, embraces the whole of the human experience and it is this combined with our sacred charge to leave the world better than how we found it, that has led us, as a people, to have an outsized impact on all aspects of life.
