Satire: Guns, Guns, Guns

Laurie Baron

SAN DIEGO — She brought three of her guns
To the school she once attended.
And sprayed the place with bullets.
Killing many as she intended.
The police promptly shot her dead
For which they were commended.
And we’ll have guns, guns, guns
Thoughts and prayers will never take away.

A guy went to a bank
And murdered five people he despised.
He livestreamed the event
To assure his deed was publicized.
It was his final act
Before the police caused his demise.
And we’ll have guns, guns, guns
Thoughts and prayers will never take away.

In Alabama, California
It does not matter which state.
Some shooters are unstable
Others motivated by hate.
But we should red flag them
And pass laws to regulate.
The types of guns, guns, guns
Thoughts and prayers will never take away.
