Uproar in Bavaria over anti-Semitism allegation against party leader

A senior Bavarian politician found himself embroiled in scandal and criticism after a leading newspaper published allegations on Saturday that as a high school pupil he was responsible for an offensive anti-Semitic leaflet which circulated through the school. The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, citing witnesses, reported that Hubert Aiwanger had distributed the offensive pamphlet at his high school in Bavaria during the 1987-88 school year.
