American Jewish Leaders Show Support for Victims of Terror

JERUSALEM (Press Release) — On Monday afternoon, The Jewish Agency for Israel took Jewish Federations of North America President and CEO Eric Fingerhut and UJA-Federation of New York CEO Eric Goldstein to Barzilai Medical Center, in the heavily hit city of Ashkelon just eight miles north of the border with Gaza, to show their support on behalf of The Jewish Agency’s Fund for the Victims of Terror for the hundreds of severely wounded Israelis who are being treated there.

The North American Jewish leaders visited the hospital along with the chair of the Fund for the Victims of Terror, Ayelet Nechemias Verbin, where they extended both emotional and financial support to the victims and their families. Every single individual who suffers either injuries or property damage in a terror attack receives a $1,200 check from the Fund for immediate needs. The Fund also provides long-term rehabilitation grants for up to three years as well as ongoing support to the victims as they navigate the days after an attack. Further, the Fund is currently assisting the communities evacuated from the Gaza border in securing the support they need. The Jewish Agency and its Fund for the Victims of Terror are committed to helping all victims of this war.
