Kevin Pillar (born January 4, 1989) is a Major League Baseball outfielder raised in West Hills, California, as the bar mitzvahed son of Jewish mother and a Christian father. At California State Dominguez Hills, he had a 54-game hitting streak and finished his overall college career with a .367 batting average.
Scaling the left field wall on April 15, 2015 to rob the Tampa Bay Rays of a homerun was voted as the play of the year by Pillar’s Toronto Blue Jays fans. Less than two months later, Pillar hit two home runs in the same game off Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals.
In 2019, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants. Thereafter he played for a succession of teams including the Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and in 2023 the Atlanta Braves.
Pillar is married to Amanda Gulyas. Their daughter Kobie is named after basketball star Kobe Bryant.
