SAN DIEGO – The month of May appears to be the month of celebrating Women’s Heath. Many of us women realize it is time to focus on our health and start to get screenings we did not think we would need. My dear friend, Andrea Schnieder will be sharing her breast cancer story at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, for Chabad of East County. All those in attendance will receive a signed copy of her book You Are Not Alone. Click here to reserve your $18 ticket, pre-Shavuot treats and the private address.

In my young adult/parenting life, I do not think I have met a person who does not like pizza. I think it is a staple at every kid’s birthday party and even adult birthday parties. The other night, I saw it at the Chinese buffet, and we laughed since our twins were so excited to see pizza was available. Did you know that La Mesa has a kosher pizza location? My family was one of the first customers as it is within walking distance from our home. My twins have said it is the best pizza ever. Please join Young Israel of San Diego’s Fundraiser on June 5 with the adjacent 20% off coupon and enjoy the night supporting a good cause.

JEWISH HUMOR
A little Jewish humor is good for the soul. Rabbi Rafi Andrusier of Chabad of El Cajon passes along this story: “The Deal”: Joseph had just passed his driving test, so he asked his father, if they could discuss the use of the car.
His father replied “Joseph, I’ll make a deal with you. You bring your school grades up, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut and we’ll talk about it.”
After about a month Joseph came back and again asked his father if they could discuss use of the car. His father replied, “Joseph, I’ve been really proud of you. You have raised your school grades, you’ve studied your Bible diligently, but you didn’t get your hair cut!”
Joseph waited a moment and replied, “You know Dad, I’ve been thinking about that. You know, Samson had long hair, Abraham had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Moses had long hair….”
To which the father replied, “Yes, and they walked everywhere they went!”
