ENCINITAS, California (Press Release) – Seacrest Foundation’s Women’s Auxiliary presents the 46th Annual Women’s
Auxiliary Gala, the Together Wherever In Spirit Gala & Online Auction, which will take place from Monday, July 22 to Friday, July 26, 2024.

All proceeds from the Together Wherever In Spirit Gala & Online Auction will support the Seacrest Village Resident Assistance Fund, which provides charitable care for residents in need who may have nowhere else to turn for help. Approximately $2.5 million in charitable care is needed to cover costs of basic expenses such as food, shelter, and physical care. A grateful family will match all funds raised, up to $250,000, so please send a generous gift today and double your impact for the residents of Seacrest Village.

Sponsorships and philanthropic opportunities can be found at www.seacrestfoundation.org/gala2024. Gifts associated with certain sponsorship levels will be hand-delivered to make your “at home” evening special, and gifts at all levels will be recognized on Seacrest Foundation’s website, in newsletters and social media, and Seacrest Foundation’s Happenings magazine.

This fundraising goal is driven by dedicated Co-Chairs, Linda & Wayne Otchis. Wayne currently serves as Seacrest Foundation’s Board President, and his mother was a resident in the Lee & Frank Goldberg Residence Court Independent Living of Seacrest Village Retirement Communities from 2005 to 2015.

Reflecting on this time in their lives, Wayne stated, “Seacrest made the last ten years of her life rich and rewarding, even with her vision and hearing challenges. The staff’s support was crucial in helping her overcome these obstacles. Her feisty spirit enabled her to reach 100 years old in independent living. My Mom loved the interaction in the dining room with her tablemates and staff, the bingo games, daily crossword and jumble puzzle discussions, outings to local parks and beaches, the beauty parlor, and sitting in the garden on sunny days. She particularly enjoyed the holiday parties, especially New Year’s Eve and any casino nights.

“Seacrest’s excellence became even more evident during the pandemic. The dedicated staff ensured the residents felt safe, secure, and appreciative of the care and protection they received during such a terrifying period.”

Wayne and his wife, Linda, enjoy running bingo nights for the residents and enjoy the interaction and laughter. Wayne further stated, “Seacrest is special because we are truly paying it forward, knowing that some of our friends may become residents in the future. They have seen other places, but Seacrest stands out as the clear first choice if they ever need to move.”
