SAN DIEGO — Donald Trump’s campaign recently played Celine Dion’s song “My Heart Will Go on” at his rally in Montana. Dion protested the unauthorized use of her song. Trump ignores copyrights and branding except if they bear his name. What was telling is that the song from the movie Titanic implies Trump’s bid for his second term is sinking and that he is drowning like Jack in the film. One wonders what other messages his musical coordinator wants to convey with his selections of music for Trump’s appearances. Here are my predictions:
The Beatle’s “Yesterday” because its lyrics perfectly embody the meaning of the slogan “Make America Great Again.”
The Rolling Stone’s “Sympathy for the Devil” reflects the sentiment that white supremacists are fine people and the thinking behind inviting Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes for dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” captures the presidential polling since Harris entered the race.
Smoky Robinson’s “The Tears of a Clown” reveals what Trump does when he’s alone.
The O’Jays “Backstabbers” is aimed at former members of Trump’s staff who have endorsed Harris.
The Shirelle’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” foreshadows what will be aired when Trump refuses to concede if he loses. On a personal note, he plans to play it in the background when he returns to Melania at Mar-a-Lago if the Electoral College and Congress certify that Harris won.
On the other hand, so far, the Harris Campaign ends its rallies with Ethel Merman’s “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” and Three Dog Night’s “Joy to the World.”

Great column!
I would add Carol King’s “It’s Too Late” to Trump’s list of appropriate songs. He and his diatribes are old news, as opposed to 2016. Even some of the hard-core right-wingers are saying that “Stop the Steal” is so yesterday. “The Great Pretender” by The Platters is also a good one for the Trumpster.
I also like “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis for the whole MAGA world.
Love this!
