SAN DIEGO – Monday was Labor Day and many celebrated by working as little as possible and celebrating the “unofficial end of summer.” Why is it called the “end of summer,” yet summer technically ends Sunday, September 22?
Many school districts resume classes around Labor Day and the National Football League resumes its season at this time as well. In fashion, the last day to wear white is on Labor Day but some people have approved of wearing white year-round.
Officially, Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States which is celebrated on the first Monday of September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements in the United States.
