SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Jewish Federation of San Diego alongside trip co-chairs Sonia Israel, Shari Schenk, and Jeff Schindler, invite members of the local Jewish community on a deeply meaningful journey marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps during the International March of the Living in Poland.
Join our delegation as we embark on a powerful experience to remember the atrocities of the Holocaust and reflect on the incredible resilience of those who survived. We will visit pivotal Holocaust sites such as Auschwitz-Birkenau, Majdanek, and the Warsaw Ghetto, confronting both the horrors of the past and the unbreakable Jewish spirit that endured.
This trip is more than a historical exploration—it’s a chance to rekindle your connection to your Jewish heritage and identity. By standing alongside Jewish communities from around the world, you will honor those who perished and engage in deep moments of learning and reflection.
For those who wish to continue the experience, there is an optional extension to Israel, where we will stand in solidarity with our sister city, Sha’ar HaNegev. There, we will witness firsthand the strength and resilience of our Israeli family, strengthening our ties to the land and the people. Especially now, in the year since October 7th, this journey holds even greater importance.
By joining us, you will become a keeper of these stories, helping to shape and fortify our community back home. Your presence will ensure that the lessons we learn are carried forward into the future.
