Secretary Clinton condemns bombing in Istanbul

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release) — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned the bombing in a public sqaure in Istanbul, which injured more than 30 people.   She issued this statement:

“The United States condemns today’s terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey, which brutally targeted innocent civilians in one of the city’s busiest squares. This is a shocking crime and the people of the United States stand in solidarity with our friends the people of Turkey. We hope to see the perpetrators brought to swift justice and stand ready to offer any assistance and support. The United States will continue to work with Turkey to combat violent extremism and to safeguard the security of peace-loving people everywhere. Today our thoughts and prayers are with those who were wounded and with all the people of Turkey.”
