Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Thanksgiving
By Laurie Baron
SAN DIEGO−The Crown Prince decided to show how grateful he was to President Trump for defending him against charges of murder by holding a Thanksgiving dinner in the royal palace. He ordered a large “turkey” from Turkey and dispatched a team of master carvers to go there and slice and package it before transporting back to Saudi Arabia.
The chefs at the palace concocted a variety of unique dishes to celebrate the occasion. One took kasha and stuffed it into pierogi dough and named this creation a kashoggi. After tasting the kashoggis and blood sausage made from the “turkey,” the royal family watched a video of President Trump symbolically joining them in the Sword Dance and laying their hands together on a globe.
For ambiance, the dining room was bathed in green light. The main course was the grilled “turkey” with its head reattached, its beak tightly wired so none of the stuffing would fall out, and its wings pinioned. Before being served, it was hoisted on a decorative post that Jared sent the Crown Prince from Washington. As the royal family feasted, they were entertained by a dazzling display of fireworks the Kingdom had purchased from American manufacturers. The Crown Prince sent the meager leftovers to Yemen as a goodwill gesture towards the United States and tweeted to President Trump, “If you ever need any help silencing the Fake News, I owe you a favor.”
