VISTA, California (Press Release)–Congregation B’nai Tikvah is holding its first annual “Iron Bubbes” Latke Challenge at its Hanukkah Celebration on Fri, Dec. 3 at 6:30pm. Contestants will be competing for the title of “Best Latke” and a Gift Certificate to “Sur La Table.”
Judging this traditional Jewish fare will be by local restaurant celebrity, Big John Haedrich founder of Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad and Allen Amster, owner of I Love Bagels Café in Oceanside.
In addition to the Latke Challenge, there will be a full night of fun activities planned including Candle Lighting, a Silent Auction, Recycled Menorah making for the kids and a presentation by the Hebrew School. Congregation B’nai Tikvah Synagogue is located at 830 S. Melrose Dr in Vista (just off Branding Iron Rd.)
